natural & life science publishers switzerland AG (NLS Publishers), founded in December 2015, aims at playing a pioneering role to challenge today’s “finance-determined” publishing “industry”. NLS Publishers will basically focus on newly emerging and, accordingly sparsely populated and financially unattractive fields. Thanks to the longstanding and wide-ranging experience and reputation of its spiritus rector, M. Volkan Kisakürek, NLS Publishers is expected to attract ample support and interest from the international scientific community in this “no-profit” venture. Currently, two new journals (to be published according to the “hybrid open access” model, i.e., print + online (+ open access if requested)) have been planned to be launched in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Later, the publishing portfolio will be expanded to further journals and, occasionally, books.
